Worksite Wellness LA (WWLA) is a 501(c)(3)-designated nonprofit organization founded in 1996 out of a need to bring preventive health education and access to healthcare resources to a largely Spanish-speaking population of low-income, uninsured workers in Los Angeles County. With initial programming designed to address the needs of low-income, medically underserved workers in South, Central, and East Los Angeles, our organization partnered early with many local, light-manufacturing and food packaging companies to bring their workforce lunchtime seminars about wellness and no-cost/low-cost health care services.

Founded in 1996, Worksite Wellness LA’s mission is “To improve the health status of low income, medically underserved families through workplaces in Los Angeles County.” Their goal is to create a bridge between these underserved families and the health care system by providing information at the worksite that encourages personal responsibility, a healthy lifestyle, and timely and appropriate utilization of health care services.
