To increase colorectal cancer awareness and screening among disadvantaged communities that have low screening rates, our center:
- Hosts events featuring the “giant inflatable colon” across multiple community locations, in collaboration with the UCLA Health Division of Digestive Diseases.
- Develops and provides “train the trainer” workshops for community health workers (promotores de salud) to help improve their knowledge and skills and provide them with tools to raise awareness and promote colon cancer prevention and screening, in collaboration with Vision y Compromiso.
