Varduhi Niksalyan, MPH, CHES
Varduhi Niksalyan is a Project Associate at the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity and the UCLA Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research. In this role, Varduhi helps implement research activities of the National Institute of Child and Health Development-funded preschool obesity prevention project and provides support to other on-going projects. Varduhi is interested in developing and implementing programs that improve environments in which people make health related decisions to reduce health disparities.
Varduhi earned her Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and her Master of Public Health degree in Community Health Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Over the past 7 years, Varduhi has been involved in various projects focused on assessing the food environment and addressing food waste and lactation accommodations on college campuses, and implementing various health and nutrition education programs. She also has experience as a training facilitator and has worked to train, expand and maintain California’s public health workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her spare time, she loves going to comedy shows, watching movies, and exploring the food scene in Los Angeles.
