The Community Collaboration to Advance Racial/Ethnic Equity in colorectal cancer (CRC) Screening (CARES) project aims to increase CRC screening rates in Community Health Centers (CHCs). CRC screening is underutilized, especially in CHCs that provide primary care services to low-income, uninsured, and racial/ethnic minority populations. The multilevel, multi-component pragmatic cluster randomized controlled trial is being conducted in 3 regions: Boston, Los Angeles, and Rapid City (South Dakota). Outcomes of interest include completion rate of CRC screening methods for FIT and FIT-DNA and the rate of follow-up colonoscopy completion among participants with an abnormal stool test result.
