Upcoming Webinar: Using Our Voces: A community toolkit to promote cancer screening in Southern California communities

Please join us for Using Our Voces: A community toolkit to promote cancer screening in Southern California communities on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 12pm via Zoom. Webinar registration required.

Regular cancer screening is one of the most effective ways to detect cancer early — and in some cases, prevent it altogether. Yet, a lack of health education and awareness continues to limit screening uptake in at-risk communities.

In response to this growing need, the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity and the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, in partnership with Antelope Valley Partners for Health and Mixteco Indígena Community Organizing Project, have developed a toolkit aimed at increasing cancer screening tests and raising awareness for relevant cancers throughout Southern California.

Join us to learn how your organization can effectively incorporate this free toolkit into your cancer outreach efforts and improve awareness and uptake of cancer screening in communities.

Topics Include:

  • How to develop a cancer awareness campaign
  • Engagement strategies to enhance your community outreach
  • Effective collaboration with healthcare partner clinics
  • Incorporating multi-media channels to reach a target audience
  • Real-life impact of culturally relevant outreach campaigns on the community

This event is for:

  • Staff from Community-Based Agencies
  • Health Educators
  • Public Health Nurses

Attendance to this webinar is free, but registration is required and space is limited.

We hope to see you there!
