Topic: Tobacco Use Prevention

Project Towards No Nicotine is a tobacco and vaping use prevention program adapted from Project Towards No Tobacco (an evidence-based tobacco use prevention curriculum delivered for classroom settings). Working in partnership with Breathe SoCal, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Los Angeles, and USC, we will develop a version of Project TNN for virtual delivery to middle school students attending after school programming across Los Angeles County. After school sites will be randomized to virtual, in-person, and a control condition to determine whether virtual delivery of the curriculum is as effective as in-person delivery. If proven effective, virtual delivery of such programming could increase access for youth in regions with a shortage of health educators.
